National Services Day launched in Dublin Castle
Today, Caroline Conroy the Lord Mayor of Dublin launched the National Services Day in Dublin Castle.
In the press launch at 15:00 hrs on 18th August in the Upper Yard, Dublin Castle, the event organisers announced their plans to mark the occasion on the 3rd September with a parade and exhibition stands in Dublin and other parades around the country including Wexford, Limerick, Kilkenny and Mayo.
On Saturday 3rd September the Dublin National Services Day Parade will start from the Garden of Remembrance at 1200hrs. Where vehicles of all sizes, service bands, marching bodies and colour parties will march to Dublin Castle, concluding with a display and exhibition area from all the frontline and voluntary agencies.
Aiden Hanna, Chairman of the National Services Day said, “We will celebrate the people of our Frontline, Emergency and Security Services and, most importantly, remember our family and friends lost during the pandemic. This is a significant milestone day for our organisation and the first occasion for us to hold national events since 2019.”

The first Saturday in September is officially designated as National Services Day, which is made up of 25 organisations including the Defence Forces, An Garda Síochána, Customs, Civil Defence, Coastguard, National Ambulance Service and Fire Brigades and other Emergency Services and Veterans Organisations including ONE and IUNVA.
